My name is Anthony Hicks III. I am from the Heart and Soul of the
Mississippi Delta, Greenville, Mississippi, also
known as Queen City, Mississippi and the Hot Tamale Capital of the World. I graduated from Greenville-Weston
High School Class of 2012. In high school I was a member of the Academic Team, Science Olympiad, and French Club.
I was also inducted into my high school's Hall of Fame before graduating and I was honored as one of two
Delta Honor Graduates from my high school.
Currently, I reside in Chicago, IL. I came to Chicago to study Computer Science at Illinois Institute of Technology (Illinois Tech).
I completed both my Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Computer Science at Illinois Tech in 2017 and I also obtain a minor in Applied Mathematics. At Illinois Tech,
I was the president and a founding member of Illinois Tech STARS
Computing Corps Chapter which allowed me to spread my love for Computer Science by teaching middle school and high
school students. Within the field of Computer Science, I am currently interested in the following topics:
- Programming Language Theory
- Compiler Construction
- Algorithm Analysis and Data Structures
- Software Engineering
Computer science is not my only interest, I am also interested in mathematics, physics, and linguistics.
Some other things I enjoy include martial arts, video games, watching anime, rock climbing, and of course computer programming.
I am so interested in martial arts that in addition to being a president of STARS Computing Corps, I was also the president of Illinois Tech's Mixed Martial Arts Club.
Within martial arts I study
ITF-style and
WT-style Taekwondo,
Wa Shin Ryu Jujutsu,
Shaolin Kung Fu, and
Tang Soo Do.
I am a blue belt in Wa Shin Ryu Jujutsu. I am a blue belt in Tang Soo Do. I hold a 4th degree black belt in (ITF-style) Taekwondo.
I also want to learn other martial art styles such as Wing Chun, Capoeria, Muay Thai, and Iaido. I study the following martial arts weapons:
